Dorothy E. Gilliam

Funeral services for Dorothy E. Gilliam, 84, of Clinton, will be held at 10:00 a.m. Thursday at the 11th street Church of Christ, in Sentinel,Okla. She died Saturday, February 25th, at Com Heritage Village, Com Okla. Dorothy was bom December 22,1932, To Dan and Ora Sexton in Waco Texas. She was raised in Waco, Texas and the family moved to Hollis, Okla. In 1944. On December 22,1948, she married Bertie Lee Gilliam in Quanah, Texas. Bert and Dorothy made their home in Clinton in 1955, after Bert got discharged from the Army. Dorothy worked at the Kell wood factory in the late 1960's making bedspreads and comforters. After working at Kellwood's for several years Dorothy retired and became a fulltime housewife and mother. After the passing of her husband in 2014 Dorothy moved to Com Heritage village where she lived until her passing. She was a member of 11th street Church of Christ since 1955. Her favorite pastimes were crocheting, reading and making jeweliy. Dorothy was preceded in death by her parents and her husband Bert, two brothers, Daniel Sexton, James Sexton, and two sisters, Mary Ruth Thompson, and Hattie Harris. She is survived by one son Curtis Gilliam, of Clinton, and two Grandchildren, Justin Gilliam and wife Malina, of Las Animas,Colorado, and Jeni Corbridge and husband James, Of Clinton and three Great grandchildren, Joseph Corbridge, Izabella Gilliam, and Drezden Corbridge all of Clinton. The services will be officiated by Mark Bailey and James Cating. Burial will conclude at the Sentinel cemetery under the direction of Kiesau-Lee funeral Home.
