A celebration of life service for Sue Meacham, 93, long time Clinton resident will be held 2:00 P.M. Friday, November 13, 2015 in the First United Methodist Church, officiated by Rev. Roland Youngberg and Rev. Vann Leonard. A private burial service will be held prior to the church service in the Clinton Cemetery under the direction of the Kiesau-Lee Funeral Home. Dorothy Sue (Pace) Meacham was born June 13, 1922 to Bert and Fannye (Akin) Pace in Shawnee Oklahoma. She went to be with her Lord and Savior Monday, November 9, 2015 in the Angelwood Assisted Living Center in Clinton, OK. Sue moved to Clinton when she started the sixth grade (this was the sweet beginning of a 67 year love story) and then graduated from Clinton High School in 1940. Upon graduating, she attended the Oklahoma College for Women in Chickasha. She eventually took a job in Tulsa, Oklahoma with the U.S. Engineer Corp in the Drafting Department where she contributed to the war effort by designing airfield runways. She married her high school sweetheart, George Allison Meacham, on June 19, 1943 in St. Petersburg, FL. After six weeks, George was sent overseas and Sue came back to their hometown of Clinton, Oklahoma to live with her parents; she worked various jobs while she waited for George to return home from serving his country. When George returned home from his military service, they began a life-long career on the farm. Sue's role quickly changed from being a helper on the farm to being a mother to their five children. She became a devoted wife, mother, grandmommie and great-grandmommie. She took great pride in her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was a life-long and faithful member of the First United Methodist Church in Clinton. In her later years, God planted a seed in her heart to open a Christian bookstore. After much prayer, Place of Grace was established. Place of Grace, ironically, is in the same building where she had worked in her earlier years for the Public Service Company. Mrs. Meacham loved Jesus and her life reflected her deep and abiding faith in him. Some of her favorite things to do were to read and study her Bible and memorize scripture. Sue is survived by three sons, Craig Meacham and wife, Charlene, Mark Meacham and wife, Tricia, and Kirk Meacham and wife, Brenda all of Clinton; daughter, Susan Meacham Klein and husband, Tommy, Butler, OK and a daughter in law, Linda Meacham-Sinor, Foss, OK. She is also survived by nine grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren; sister, Janis (Pace) Evans and her husband, Charles, of Oklahoma City, OK. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, George Allison Meacham, a son, Steve Meacham, grandson, Matt Meacham and a great-grandson, Paul Thomas Red. Visitation will began 8:00 A.M. till 8:00 P.M., Thursday, November 12, 2015 at the funeral home.
