Funeral services for Evelyn Reed, 91, Arapaho resident, will be held 10:00 A.M., Thursday, November 8, 2018 at the Free Will Baptist Church, with Rev. Charles Murphy officiating, and under the direction of the Kiesau-Lee Funeral Home. Burial will follow in the Arapaho Cemetery. Evelyn Olive Reed was born April 4, 1927, In Independence, OK, to Alonzo and Mable (Roe) King, and passed away Saturday, November 3, 2018 at her daughter's house in Crawford, OK. Evelyn grew up in Arapaho, and graduated Arapaho High School in 1945. She married James Reed on June 29, 1949 in South Olive, OH., she was a member of the Putnam Methodist Church, but lately been attending the Free Will Baptist Church in Clinton. She was employed as secretary in the Custer County Commissioners office, as the School Board Secretary, and most recent was the Custer County, County Clerk, but she was most proud of the fact that she was the preachers wife for 45 years. Evelyn loved to quilt, crotchet, cook and canning her vegetables. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, two sisters Juaneta Nichols, and Mary Moon, three brothers, Don King, Doug King, and Eldon King. She is survived by two daughters, Jan Howenstine, and her husband Cy, of Cheyenne, Christine Calvert, and her husband Eugene, of Crawford, OK, two sons, Lonny Reed and his wife Annette, of Arapaho, OK, and Douglas Reed and his wife Margaret of Arkadelphia, AR; a brother Charles King and his wife Wanda, of Oregon, 8eight grandchildren, eight great grandchildren and five honorary grandchildren
