Funeral services for Larry Stewart, 75, Clinton resident will be held at 10:00 AM, Wednesday, November 8, 2023, at the First Baptist Church in Clinton, officiated by Pastor Kent Jaggers. The burial will follow in the Chapel Hill Cemetery, east of Clinton, under the direction of the Kiesau-Lee Funeral Home.
Larry Gene Stewart was born October 21, 1948, to Glen and Frankie (Wallace) Stewart in Elk City, OK and passed away early Saturday, November 4, 2023, in the Clinton Veterans Center in Clinton, OK.
Larry was raised in Clinton and graduated from Clinton High School in 1966. He was soon drafted into the U.S. Army and served in Vietnam before being honorably discharged in 1970. He returned home and attended Oklahoma State University in Stillwater, OK for one year. In 1976, he graduated from Southwestern Oklahoma State University in Weatherford, receiving a degree in Business Administration. While in college, he worked for Sewell Brothers, Mac Reinard, and Cornell Construction Company.
He married Paula Bingenheimer on May 5, 1972, in Clinton, OK. After living in Oklahoma City for a short time, they moved back to Clinton in 1977. He owned and operated Larry Stewart Dozer Service doing soil conservation work and oil field construction all over Western Oklahoma. He sold his business in 2011 and fully retired in 2016. Larry fully enjoyed his work, as well as spending time with family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his mother and father; brother, Terry Stewart; father-in-law, Joe Bingenheimer; brother-in-law, Barry Robinson; niece, Enid Bighorse; and nephew, Luke Stewart.
He is survived by his wife, Paula, of the home; mother-in-law, Pauline, Clinton, OK; daughter, Adrienne Clerici and husband, Chris, Durango, CO; two sons, Jacob Stewart and wife, Amy and Jordan Stewart and wife, Melissa, both of Clinton; sister, Kathy Stewart, Clinton; brother, Russell Stewart and wife, Charlotte, Clinton.
He is also survived by his seven grandchildren: Grant Stewart, Kate Stewart, Audrey Stewart, Rocco Clerici, Carson Clerici, Oaklyn Stewart and Bodhi Stewart; sister-in-laws, Kim Robinson, Clinton and Ann Bardone and husband, Patrick, Santa Fe, NM, and brother-in-law, Michael Bingenheimer, Clinton; cousins, Mark Stewart, Lloyd Stewart and Ramona Hines, Clinton; Shirley Sparke, Garden City, KS; Jeri Bailey, Glenn Bailey, Bill Bailey and Pam Teeter, Kansas; as well as three nephews and three nieces.
