Michael Jay Purvis was born October 13, 1951 to Charles P. Purvis and Mathalie (Barley) Purvis in Dumas, Texas and passed away Saturday September 16, 2016 in the Alliance Health Clinton. He was buried in the Clinton Cemetery under the direction of the Kiesau-Lee Funeral Home. Michael was raised and attended school in Dumas, TX. He enlisted in the United States Marines on December 29, 1969 in Dumas, TX. He worked as a clerk typist while in the military. He received the National Defense Service Medal and the Rifle Sharpshooter Badge. He was honorably discharged January 4, 1972. While growing up his family traveled extensively and the parents wanted the children to travel all over the United States, they traveled in all of the continental U.S. except Alaska and Hawaii and managed to go to two World Fairs. He has worked in sales most of his life as well as rebuilt and refurbished bicycles, making his home in California, Texas, Kansa and Oklahoma. He recently had become a resident of the Clinton Veterans Center in Clinton, OK. He enjoyed playing VCR Tapes, watching TV and was an avid movie fan. He was preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by two daughters, Pepper Mai, Tina Purvis, both of California, son Adam Purvis, of Kansas and three sisters, Charlene Purvis Richardson, Dumas, TX and Christie Purvis Carver and Emily Purvis Roblesnarciso, both of California . He is also survived by several grandchildren including Tina Turner, Seth Turner, Craig Turner, Tyler Purvis and Danielle Reagan, one great-grandchild Jaxson Purivs and numerous Aunts, Uncles, Cousins and nieces and nephews.
