Funeral Services for Regina “Taco” Mata, 50, Clinton resident will be held 11:00 Tuesday. November 29, 2022, in the Clinton Emergency Resource Center (ERC), officiated by Pastor Gerald Panana. Burial will follow in the Down Woman Cemetery south of Clinton on 183 Highway under the direction of the Kiesau-Lee Funeral Home.
A Tradition wake service will be held 6:00 till 9:00 P.M., Monday, November 28, 2022, in the ERC.
Regina Louise Mata was born November 19, 1972, to Juan Arriaga and Madonna Starr in Oklahoma City, OK and passed away Thursday, November 24, 2022, in Clinton, OK.
“Taco” as she was known by family and friends was raised by grandparents, Chief Moses Nellie Starr in Clinton, OK. She attended Clinton schools and at a young age she ventured off to Kansas. She married Manuel Mata in 1992 in Kansas. They moved to Buffalo, OK also to Mexico.
She was employed with the Cheyenne/Arapaho in Clinton and transported elders. She also worked in housekeeping in local motels.
She enjoyed doing bead work, she enjoyed drawing and was a collector of “stuff”.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Madonna Starr and her husband, Manuel.
She is survived by daughters, Madonna Mata, Tahlequah and Monica Starr, Elk City, OK, sons, Juan Antonio Mata and wife, Nichole, Nowata, OK, Rafael Mata and Illiana, Clinton, Esteban Mata, Weatherford, and Manuel Mata, Clinton, her father, Juan Arriaga, Clinton.
She is also survived by 10 grandchildren.
