Agnes Marie Hoelker

A Mass of Christian Burial for Agnes Hoelker, 103, Custer County Centurion, will be held 10:00 A.M., Wednesday, March 12, 2014, in the St. Mary's Catholic Church, officiated by Father Thomas Pudota and burial will conclude in the Anthon Catholic Cemetery. A Rosary will be held 7:00 P.M., Tuesday in the Kiesau Memorial Chapel. Agnes Marie Hoelker was born August 8, 1910 to Herman and Mamie (Klein) Hoelker in Anthon, OK and passed away Saturday, March 8, 2014 in the Methodist Health Care Center Agnes was raised in the Anthon Community where she also attended her schooling. She helped the family on the farm and during WWII she worked for Boeing Aircraft as a riveter. She returned back to Custer County and attended Nursing School and worked as a Licensed Practical Nurse for the Clinton Hospital until she retired in 1975. She was a lifelong member of the Catholic Church and has attended and been a faithful and active member of St. Mary's Catholic Church for many years. She loved music and while growing up her whole family was musically talented and all her family played instruments and she was the pianist and organist. They played for many years entertaining for parties and dances and she played for the Church for many years. She enjoyed dancing up until recent years as well as bowling. She was preceded in death by her parents, an infant sister, Esther and three brothers, Albert, Paul and Louis. She was survived by a sister, Clara Dunn, Rogers, AR and a brother, Devert Hoelker and wife, Ernestine, of Weatherford. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews and her church family. The family has suggested Memorial contribution s be made to the St. Mary's Catholic Church.
