Funeral Services for Alberta Thunderbull, 72, Elk City resident will be held 1:00 P.M., Tuesday, April 7, 2015 in the Hammon Indian Community Building, officiated by Rev. Delfred Whitecrow, Rev. Delfred "Bunny" Whitecrow, Jr. and Rev. Paul Bear Track. Burial will follow in the Hammon Indian Cemetery under the direction of the Kiesau Lee Funeral Home. Alberta Gladys Thunderbull (Strong Woman) was born March 18, 1942 to Sidney Clarence Roman Nose and Edna (Swallow) Roman Nose in the camps near Hammon, OK and passed away early Thursday, April 2, 2015 in the Heart Hospital in Oklahoma City, OK. Alberta was raised in Hammon and attended Hammon Schools. She married Tony Left hand in 1953 in Hammon. She later married T.A. Thunderbull in 1974 in Clinton and then Dale Wheeler in 1995 in Clinton. She had lived in Hammon, Clinton and Elk City. She worked as a nurse aid in Nursing Homes. She was an active and devoted member of the Indian Baptist Church in Elk City; she enjoyed sewing and she was a proud member of the Cheyenne Tribe; she taught the Cheyenne language at the Elk City Library. She was preceded in death by Tony Left Hand and Dale Wheeler; a son, Clifton Roman Nose; six sisters, Zenoma, Nora, Myra, Nadine, Wynona and Gladys, a brother, Theodore Roman Nose and granddaughter, Lori Dorman. She is survived by 3 daughters, Louise Roby, of Elk City, Lynn Morrison, of Mustang, Robin Wheeler- Hargrove, OK, of Haskell, OK and 3 sons, Keith Thunderbull, of Elk City, Gerald Pack, of Moore, OK and Tony Handley, of Duncan; sister, Stella Roman Nose, Clinton, OK, two brothers, Wayne Roman Nose, of Ute Park, NM and Martin roman Nose, of Elk City, OK. She is also survived by 10 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives.
