Memorial service for Alice Mae Whitetail, 71, Thomas resident, will be Monday, March 24, 2014 from 11:00 a.m. till 1:00 p.m. in Stanley Lee Chapel, 112 South 7th, Clinton, Oklahoma. Alice was born January 16, 1943 in Clinton, Oklahoma to Charley and and Nellie (Drunkard Penn) Whitetail. She passed away in her home in Thomas, Oklahoma Wednesday, March 19, 2014. She was a 1961 graduate from Thomas High School. In 1975 she graduated from Albuquerque Indian School Practical Nursing. Her nursing career started with Highland Park Manor and worked in many hospitals: Weatherford, Watonga, Thomas, St. Anthony's and Oklahoma Indian Clinic, briefly in Denver, Co. After having Triple AAA repair, her health slowly declined causing her to give up her nursing career. She retired after working 17 years at Clinton Indian Hospital. She LOVED nursing, especially the elderly. Her many interests included quilting and attending the many sporting events for her grandchildren. She is survived by her children: Jerry Fraser and wife, Wendy, of Eldorado Springs, Mo. and Perry Fraser and wife, Ann, of Weatherford, Latisha Gibson and husband, Calvin, of Thomas, Denise Poauty of Ada, Michael Paouty of Ada and Danell Rivers of OKC and Baby Danell Rivers ll of Hammon; a sister: Annette Dobbins and husband, Craig, of Thomas; two adopted sisters: Bell Jean Williams and Terry Waterman both of Clinton, and many grandchildren and great grandchildren and nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents: Charley and Nellie Whitetail and a sister, Martha Rabbit and brother, Fred Whitetail.
