A Memorial Service for Alicia Kay Eagan, 66, Arapaho resident will be held 10:00 A.M., Monday, June 3, 2013 in the First Christian Church, Clinton, OK, officiated by Chaplain Dan Day, and Jackie Duncan and under the direction of the Kiesau Lee Funeral Home. Alicia Kay (Herboldsheimer) Eagan was born December 19, 1946 to Bennie B. and Charlyn (Hagemeister) Herboldsheimer in Sydney, Nebraska and passed away after a long and hard battle with cancer on Monday, May 27, 2013 in her rural Arapaho, OK resident. Mrs. Eagan was raised in Potter, Nebraska and she graduated from Potter High School in 1965. She continued her education at the Colorado State College in Greely, CO. She was married to Wayne Eagan on December 29, 1967 in Potter, Nebraska and they made their home four miles West of Arapaho, OK where they farmed. She finished her education at Southwestern Oklahoma State University graduating with a Bachelors Degree in Elementary Education. Her teaching years were in the Arapaho School System teaching kindergarten. She also worked in the Custer County Treasures Office at Arapaho, Oklahoma for several years. She was a member of the Western Oklahoma Quilt Guild, the Wheat Weavers Association and she was an advocate and traveled all over the country speaking for and raising money for the Caring for Carcinoid Foundation. She loved to do many kinds of hand work, crocheting, knitting, quilting; she was an accomplished artist and enjoyed painting; she liked to bake and decorate cakes and did an art form of wheat weaving. She was preceded in death by her husband, Wayne in 2002, her father and a brother, Steven Herboldsheimer. She is survived by a daughter, Kaleen Clark and husband, Brian, of Lexington, OK and a son, Blaine Eagan and wife, Jennifer, Arapaho, OK, mother, Charlyn Herboldsheimer, of Auburn, Nebraska, two sisters, Susan Kruse and husband, Darrell, Auburn, Nebraska and Patrice Egging and husband, Mike, of Pratt, KS. She is also survived by four grandchildren, Avonlea, Ashlyn, Colton, and Avery. The family has requested those wanting to make a memorial contribution may do so to the Caring For Carcinoid Foundation, 198 Tremont Street, Box 456, Boston, MA 02116 or to the Arapaho-Butler Playground Fund, P.O. Box 160, Arapaho, OK 73620.
