Funeral Services for Alvin E. Knauf, Jr., 66, Foss resident will be held 2:00 P.M., Wednesday in the First Christian Church officiated by Chaplain Dan Day and burial will conclude in the Union Hatchett Cemetery near Bessie, OK under the direction of the Kiesau-Lee Funeral Home. Alvin Earl Knauf, Jr., was born October 22, 1946 to Alvin and Elizabeth Lee (Weaver) Knauf in Clinton, OK and passed away Sunday June 9, 2013 in the University Hospital in Oklahoma City following a motor cycle accident that happened a week prior. Mr. Knauf was raised on the family farm near Stafford, OK and he attended Stafford School until its closing and then he attended and graduated from Butler High School in 1964. He continued his education at Southwestern State College in Weatherford. He soon enlisted in the U.S. Army Reserve’s and served a 6 year stint. He had been employed with Public Service Company; he served as Personnel Plant Manager at Kellwood Plant. Most recently he was employed with the City of Clinton in different capacities but most recently he was the Water Superintendent and then retired after 26 years. He was married to Pam Hand on July 4, 1981 in Foss, OK. He spent several years building their “Green” Energy Efficient Home. He has also spent the last five years doing construction and remodeling for others. He was preceded in death by his parents and a toddler sister, Judy. He was a former member of the Kiwanis Club, he loved to ride his motor cycle, play music, and a good game of cards and his passion was his time spent with family. He is survived by his wife, Pam, of the home, two daughters, Laci Sawatzky and husband, Fayne, and Kelsi South and husband, Philip, both of Clinton, a son, Joseph Shannon Knauf and his fiancé, Tiffany, of Oklahoma City. He is also survived by five grandchildren, Darienne Bailey, Cadence Sawatzky, Jaycee South, Jaxton South and Wyatt Knauf and his life time special friend, Donald Wohl of Clinton.
