Funeral Services for Alvina Bergman, 93, lifelong Corn resident will be held 11:00 A.M. Friday, March 7, 2014 in the Corn Mennonite Brethren Church, officiated by Hal Penner (grandson) and burial will conclude in the Corn Cemetery under the direction of the Kiesau-Lee Funeral Home. Alvina (Regier) Bergman was born October 10, 1920 to J.J. and Minnie (Hiebert) Regier in Corn, OK and passed away Monday, March 3, 2014 in the Corn Heritage Village in Corn, OK. Alvina was raised in Corn and attended Greenfield Elementary School, she later graduated from Corn High school in 1937. She continued her education at Southwestern in Weatherford, OK and on to Oklahoma University. She was married to J.R. Bergman on February 11, 1940 in Corn where they made their home. She served as the Administrator of the Home for the Aged in Corn for a period of time and then she became a Nursing Home State Inspector for the state of Oklahoma until her retirement in 1985. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, and a son, J. Richert Bergman; four brothers, Barney, Jake, Henry and John Regier and three sisters, Clara Reimer, TenaRegier and Minnie Reimer. She was a longtime and faithful member of the Corn Mennonite Brethren Church, involved with Gideon's International, she loved to travel, entertain, and cook. She is survived by a daughter, Kaylin Penner and husband, Harvey, of Weatherford, three grandchildren, Jan Dewbre and husband, Ross, of OKC, OK, Kaysa Pierce and husband, Matt, of New Braunfels, TX and Hal Penner and wife, Geneva, of Weatherford, OK; She is also survived by six great-grandchildren, Kelsey and Jamie Dewbre, Holtan and Trevor Pierce and Halle and Harrison Penner. The family has suggested those wanting to give a memorial contribution may do so to the Gideon's International, Clinton Gideon Camp, P.O.
