Annemarie Boese, a cherished wife, mother, grandmother and friend, gracefully departed this world on December 11, 2024, at the age of 97, in Corn Heritage Village of Corn, Oklahoma. Her funeral will be held on Saturday, December 14, 2024, at 11:00 am at the Corn Mennonite Brethren Church in Corn, OK where she will be remembered fondly by the lives she touched.

Born on April 22, 1927, in Danzig Wernercros, Germany, Annemarie's remarkable journey was shaped by the trials she faced during World War Il being held captive in Siberia, Russia, and finally remarkedly reuniting with her parents and siblings. It was there that her strength of spirit began to blossom, laying the foundation for a life rich in resilience and love. She met her beloved David Boese serving to rebuild housing in Germany after the war. They married once in Germany on July 17, 1954, then again in the United States, settling on David’s parents’ farm northwest of Corn.

Annemarie was not only a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother, but she was also an extraordinary cook, renowned for her culinary delights prepared from scratch. Her specialties, especially hearty meats, potatoes, and delightful desserts, exemplified her nurturing nature. She had a green thumb, lovingly cultivating a vegetable garden every year, which she shared with her family and friends, teaching her children and grandchildren the joy and value of gardening and cooking.

Annemarie worked as a cook, then obtained education to become a dietary manager at the Home for the Aged (now Corn Heritage Village) from the time she was about 49 until retirement when her husband became ill. Beyond that, she also routinely worked alongside her husband on the farm exemplifying her selflessness and hard-working nature. She always had a made-from-scratch meal on the table for every meal. If she was working, she always made a packed lunch for her family to take to the farm.

Her faith was an important part of her life. She and David demonstrated their devotion to God in their everyday life, being loving Christian examples to their children. The family attended Bergthal Church, then Corn Mennonite Brethren Church where Annemarie and David served as a caterer for many years. They also volunteered their time at the Oklahoma City Rescue Mission, with music and sharing, occasionally  Wastefulness was foreign to her, as she practiced gratitude in every aspect of her life.

Annemarie symbolized the true essence of a servant’s heart.

She is remembered by her two sons, Bill Boese of Mustang, OK, Robert Boese and his wife Julie of Corn, OK; and her daughter Doris Kimball and her husband Allen of Allen, TX; sister-in-law, Edna Harris of Pratt, KS; and a host of grandchildren- Nick Boese and his wife Nikki, Darla Davis and her husband Chris; Rebekkah Houser, Chris Kimball and his wife Kendi, and Kathryn Kimball; Jared Boese and his wife Kenzie, Leah Tuggle and her husband Zak, Michael Boese, and Spencer Boese,—as well as 16 adored great-grandchildren - Alex, Lila, Luke, Kaylee, Destiny, Clayton, Dalton, Josh, Jordan, Kiley, Kayley, Kassidy, Brooklyn, Brock, Elle, and Zoey. Her niece, Hannah Hollingshead, also held a special place in her heart.

Annemarie was preceded in death by her beloved parents, Otto and Anna (Nickel) Neufeld; her husband, David Boese; her brothers, Gerhart Neufeld and Hans Neufeld; and sisters Elsie Neufeld, Lisalot Pheifer, Rita Peters, Dorthea (Teya) Hollingshead.

As we gather to honor her legacy, our hearts are filled with gratitude for the love and warmth she shared throughout her remarkable life.
