Funeral Services for Audrey Jean Bennett, 61, former Clinton resident will be held 2:00 PM, Tuesday, May 21, 2024, in the Bethany Baptist Church, officiated by Rev. Allen Russell. The burial will follow in the Clinton Cemetery under the direction of the Kiesau-Lee Funeral Home.
Audrey Jean Bennett was born March 26, 1963, to George Edward Bennett and Ruth Jean (Grimes) Bennett in Clinton OK and passed away Friday, May 10, 2024, in the Hillcrest Medical Center in Tulsa, OK.
Audrey was raised in Clinton, OK. She attended Clinton Schools, where she was active in sports, including track, basketball and was a flag girl in the band. She graduated from Clinton High School in 1983.
She worked in the dietary department at the Methodist Nursing Home for several years. in 1992 she relocated to Tulsa, OK also doing dietary work for a nursing home before transferring to St. Francis Hospital. She most recently was doing private home health care. Her sister Treva Bennett joined her in Tulsa, and they made their home together for the next several years.
She was a member of the Clinton Bethany Baptist Church; She enjoyed card games, playing BINGO and going to the casino and watching her grandchildren in their sporting activities.
She was preceded in death by her parents, and brother, George Edward Bennett, Jr.
She is survived by two daughters, LaTisha Washington and fiancé, Victor Johnson, of Tulsa, OK, and Sasha “Baby Cakes” Washington and Shay Fernandez, of Moore, OK, sisters, Demetrice “Chicken” Bryant-Kemp, and Gary Rogers, and Treva Bennett, Tulsa, OK, brothers, Billy “Pokey” Bennett and wife, Stephaine, Wichita, KS.
She is also survived by two grandsons, Dequan Reeves and Deshaun Washington, and 8 great grandchildren, Ayden Reeves, Elijah Reeves, Greyson Reeves, Danyan Reeves, Nylah Reeves, Aaliyah Washington, Nolyn Davis, and Ariella Washington and a host of nieces and nephews.
