A.W. Pool

A funeral service for A. W. Pool, 91, Clinton resident and business man will be held 10:00 A.M., Friday, December 18, 2015 in the Kiesau Memorial Chapel, officiated by Rev. Alvin Walker and under the direction of the Kiesau-Lee Funeral Home. A private graveside service will be held at Texoma Cemetery in Texoma, Oklahoma at a later date. Arvil Winston "A.W." Pool was born January 31, 1924 to Charles Edward Pool and Lilly (Bass) Pool in Wilbarger County, Texas. He passed away Tuesday December 15, 2015 in the Weatherford Regional Hospital in Weatherford, OK. Mr. Pool was raised on a farm North of Oklaunion, TX. He enlisted in the U.S. Army when he was 16 years old and he served as a combat veteran with the 82nd Airborne in the European Theatre during World War II. After receiving his honorable discharge he began working for Tulsa Exploration and met his soon to be bride, Mary Ruth Steele while in Mc Leansboro, IL and they were married on September 21, 1946 in Morganfield, Kentucky. He started a water drilling company in 1952 and then moved his business to the Panhandle of Oklahoma in 1962 where he also farmed. In 1980 he moved his business again to Clinton, Oklahoma and opened a Machine shop as well. He continued to work every day until recently because of failing health. He is preceded in death by his parents, a daughter, Christy Lynn Pool, two brothers, Edward "Bob" and Paul; two sisters, Mattie dozier and Janice Thompson. He is survived by his wife, of over 69 years, Mary Ruth Pool, of the home, sons, Winston Pool and wife, Marie, Keith Pool and wife, Nancy, and Greg Pool, all of Clinton. He is also survived by 8 grandsons, Jason Pool and wife, Laci, Ft. Worth, TX, Tucker Pool an d wife, D'Lisa, Weatherford, OK, Chris Pool and wife, Demerie, Clinton, Jeremy Pool and wife, Alicia, Clinton, Ty Pool, Chickasha, Bradley Pool, Clinton, Jake Pool and wife, Jessica, Weatherford, Caleb Pool, Clinton, Ethan Pool and wife, Yolanda, Clinton and granddaughter, Lacey Hugh and husband, Steven, Yukon and 12 great grandchildren.
