B Maye Uzzel

A Memorial Service for Beulah Maye Uzzell, 94, Clinton resident will be held at 2:00 P.M., Monday, November 5, 2018 in the Grace Living Center Dining Room, officiated by Patrick Peters. Burial will be in the Clinton Cemetery under the direction of the Kiesau-Lee Funeral Home. Beulah Maye (McCormick) Uzzell was born August 14, 1924 to Shelby Earl McCormick and Mary Emma (Eskew) McCormick in Charleston, West Virginia and passed away Friday, October 19, 2018 in the Grace Living Center in Clinton, OK. She went on a blind date with Shelby H. Uzzel and then they married on March 28, 1944 in Baltimore, MD. Mr. Uzzel was in the military and they were stationed Maryland and Florida. In 1945 the young couple moved to Edmond, Oklahoma and Shelby began a career in the oil fields as a roughneck and they traveled all over Oklahoma and settled in Woodward and they lived there for over 25 years. While in Woodward they owned and operated a filing station. They moved to Clinton in 1983 with the oilfield, but they soon started a lawn service and ran it for several years. She did domestic work and cleaned houses as well as working at the Laundry World. She was a member of the Church of Christ; she enjoyed going to garage sales and collecting glass ware and antiques. She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband and a son, Shelby, JR. She is survived by a sister, Betty Kirkpatrick, and nieces and nephews. She is also survived by her church family and close friends, George and Katherine Scott, and Alan and Ivana Livingston, all of Clinton.
