Bertie Lee Gilliam

Service for Bertie Lee Gillima, 86, will be held at 10:00 AM, Wednesday, September 10, 2014 at the Church of Christ, 11th Street, Sentinel, Oklahoma, with Mark Bailey officiating. Burial will follow at Sentinel Cemetery under the direction of Stanley-Lee Funeral Home. Bertie was born May 27, 1928 on a farm in Harmon County, Oklahoma to William E. and Katherine (Dudley) Gilliam. He passed away Saturday, September 6, 2014 in him home in Clinton, Oklahoma. He was raised in Gould, Oklahoma and attended Ron country school for 6 years. He enjoyed putting in a garden and caring for it. He also enjoyed fishing; but his favorite past time was building and flying his own airplane. He was a diesel mechanic and welder.. He was employed at Graves Manufacturing and Oklahoma Dept. of Transportation. He married Dorothy Sexton on December 22, 1948 and they made their home in Clinton, Oklahoma. They have one son Curtis Gilliam of Clinton and two grandchildren and three great grandchildren. He also has five sisters. He is preceded in death by his parents, three sisters and two brothers.
