Betty Cocanougher

Funeral Service for Betty Cocanougher, 82, former Clinton businesswomen, will be held 1:00 P.M., Thursday, January 16, 2020 in the Kiesau Memorial Chapel, officiated by Melvin Dunn, Chris Dunn and Nathan Dunn. Burial will follow in Clinton Cemetery under the direction of the Kiesau-Lee Funeral Home. Betty Joan (Williams) Cocanougher was born September 8, 1937 to Joseph “Laymon” Williams and Viola Beatrice (Cox) Williams Brown in Clinton, OK and passed away January 12, 2020 in the Ranchwood Nursing Home in Yukon, Oklahoma. Betty was married to Marion T. Cocanougher on October 19, 1974. Betty and Marion ran the Clinton Ambulance Service for several years and then they owned and operated the Clinton Monument Company until his death in 2007. Betty was a member of the Oakwood Assembly of God Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Marion, parents, sisters, Julia “Ann” Harper, Joy Lynn South, Cynthia Gail Broussard, Emma Rose Williams and her brothers, William Joseph “Joe” Williams and Roy Allen Williams. She is survived by her “KIDS”, Oneda and Melvin Dunn, Yukon, OK, Chris and Kim Dunn and their family, Weatherford, OK and Nathan and Lacie Dunn and their family, Thomas, OK. She is also survived by her sisters, Patsy Viola Hatter, Moore, OK, Mavis Irene and Larry Smith, Durant, OK, Nancy Sue Hornsby, Valley, AL; brothers, Dennis Edwin and Vicky Williams, Bristow, OK, Jerry “Neal” and Debbie Williams, Guthrie, OK, Randy Wayne Williams, Moore, OK, Sidney Martin and Debra Williams, Mid West City, OK and numerous nieces, nephews and extended family and friends. Betty’s’ interests included, traveling often to Branson, MO spending time with her sisters, caring for her cats, sewing as a professional seamstress, flower gardening, playing dominions, and sharing meals with friends at local restaurants.
