A Memorial Services for Betty Jean Percy, 83, long time Clinton resident, will be held 10:00 A.M., Monday, September 30, 2013 in the Kiesau Memorial Chapel, officiated by Rev. Roland Youngberg and under the direction of the Kiesau-Lee Funeral Home. Betty Percy was born September 12, 1930 to Oliver and Lena (McCall) Vignery in Concordia, KS. Her father passed away when she was very young and she was raised by a step-father, Fred Powers. She passed away Wednesday, September 25, 2013 in the Integris Clinton Regional Hospital. Betty was raised in Concordia, KS where she also graduated from high school in 1948. She continued her education by attending the Brown-Mackie Business College and pursued employment at the Salina Air Force Base in Salina, KS. While working on the base she met and later married 1st Lt., Harry Percy, United States Air Force on February 27, 1954 in Salina, KS and he was honorably discharged that same year. Soon after Lt Percy's discharge, they moved to Clinton, Oklahoma where they have lived their married life. They owned and operated Clinton Ice Plant until their retirement in 1993. They have traveled during their retirement and spent at least five months out of the year in their family cabin in New Mexico. She was an active member of the First united Methodist Church, a member of P.E.O., had served on the Clinton Regional Hospital Board, and was one of the ones instrumental in getting meals on wheels started in Clinton, she was also active in many of the civic organizations and volunteered when needed. She loved to read and spent many hours working in her flower beds and yard. She was preceded in death by her father, mother and step-father. She is survived by her husband of 59 years, of the home, a son, Larry Percy and wife, Annie, of Troy, AL and a daughter, Catherine Montanini and her husband, Pierluigi, of Manama, Bahrain. She is also survived by four grandsons, Brice Percy, Chattanooga, TN and Tyler Percy, of Boulder, CO and Joseph Montanini, Denver, CO and Jonathan Montanini, of Miami, FL. The family has suggested those wishing to give memorial contributions may do so to the United Methodist Health Care Center 2316 Modelle, Clinton, OK 73601 or to Oklahoma Medical Research Foundation for Diabetes, 825 NE 13th. Oklahoma City, OK.
