Funeral Services for Betty Pinion, 88, former Clinton resident will be held 11:00 A.M., Friday, November 11, 2022, in the Kiesau Memorial Chapel, officiated by Doyle Kinney. Burial will follow in the Hobart Rose Cemetery, Hobart, OK under the direction of the Kiesau-Lee Funeral Home.
Visitation will be held Noon till 8:00 P.M., Thursday, November 10, 2022, at the funeral home.
Betty Jean (Christian) Pinion was born June 26, 1934, to Walter and Lela (Brandon) Christian at the family farm south of Lone Wolf, OK and passed away on Saturday, November 5, 2022, in Oklahoma City, OK.
Betty lived her first five years in Lone Wolf, OK. She then moved to her great-grandmothers farm 10 ½ miles south of Hobart. OK. She attended Koonlazach Country School until the fourth grade and then the family moved to town. The family built a new home across the road from her grandmothers and the family moved into it in 1947. She graduated from Hobart High School in 1953 and married Bruce L. Pinion on December 12, 1953. They made their first homes in Oklahoma City and Kansas. They soon returned to Hobart, OK where Mr. Pinion worked for Mistletoe Express.
In 1955 Bruce and Betty moved to Altus, OK also making their homes in Cordell, OK and Sapulpa, OK. In 1959 they moved and settled in Clinton, OK. In 1971 Betty and Bruce took over for Mistletoe Express Freight Delivery in Clinton for the next 18 years. She worked for Oren Hayes at Shantel Jewelers for 13 years and then retired.
In 2016 Betty moved to Oklahoma City to be near her son, Rob.
She is a member of the West Point Christian Church in Oklahoma City, a member of the V.F.W. Ladies Auxiliary until it dissolved. She was a member and held offices in the Christian Women’s Fellowship for over 15 years.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Bruce, her parents and two sons, Steve Pinion and Tim Pinion.
She is survived by a son, Rob Pinion and spouse Mike, OKC, OK.
She is also survived by eight grandchildren, Jason, Jeff, Josh, Jeremy, Lynn, Cassidy, Tim Pinion and Angelene Garrett.
She is survived by two great-grandchildren, Jalynn Pinion and Steve Sutton.
