Funeral Services for Betty May, 88, Butler resident will be held 10:00 A.M., Thursday, June 1, 2017 in the Kiesau Memorial Chapel, officiated by Rev. Doyle Kinney. Burial will conclude in the Arapaho Cemetery in Arapaho, under the direction of Kiesau-Lee Funeral Home. Betty Elizabeth (Barnhill) May was born September 5, 1928 to Ennis and Ruby Barnhill in Bradley, OK and passed away on Sunday, May 28, 2017 at Grace Living Center in Clinton, OK Betty graduated from Cox City High School in 1948, where she enjoyed Softball and basketball. She loved to work in broom corn, cotton, and hauling hay. She also liked fishing and squirrel hunting with her sisters, Lois and Aileen. After graduation she moved Lindsay, OK and worked with W.E. and E.B. Pool at the hospital. From there she moved to Clinton, OK and trained to be a Registered Nurse. She met her husband H.E. May Jr., while he was in the Army. They married December 5, 1950. After he was discharged, they moved to the farm in Butler, OK. She loved working on the farm, side by side with Junior. She also enjoyed traveling, helping others, and managing the farm after Junior passed away. She is preceded in death by her husband H.E. May Jr., her parents Ennis and Ruby Barnhill, and her brother William Barnhill. Betty is survived by her sisters Lois Crabb, Lindsay, OK and Aileen Throope and husband Bob Rupert, Bodfish, CA; nephews, Don Crabb and wife Bonnie, Bakersfield, CA, Terry Barnhill and wife Tet, Bakersfield, CA; niece Sharon Shephard, Lindsay, OK; great nephew Bobby Blevins, Lindsay, OK; and loving friend Art Klein, Butler, OK
