A Graveside service for Betty Stevenson, 93, Custer County resident will be held 1:00 P.m., Saturday, November 2, 2013 in the Custer city Masonic Cemetery, officiated by Doyle Kinney and under the direction of the Kiesau-Lee Funeral Home. Betty Jo (Lambert) Stevenson was born August 31, 1920 to John and Ruby (Ferguson) Lambert in Hammon, Oklahoma and passed away Saturday, October 26, 2013 in the Mercy Hospital in Oklahoma City. Betty Jo was raised partially in Western Oklahoma but moved to Dodge City, Kansas at a young age and graduated from Dodge City, High School. She moved back to Oklahoma and settled in the Custer City and Putnam area. She was married to Roy Stevenson on January 6, 1942 in Clinton, OK. They made their home in Custer City where they farmed for many years. In 1961 she was also employed as secretary for Custer County Farm Bureau for 24 years, retiring in the late 1985. Her husband preceded her in death in 2001. She moved to Clinton in 2004 and as her health declined she later moved to Edmond in 2012. She was a faithful and active member of the First Christ Church; she enjoyed playing bridge and working on crossword puzzles. She was also preceded in death by her parents, a sister, June Whitson and a brother, Ferg Lambert. She is survived by two daughters, La Denta Carpenter and her husband L.D., Butler and Vicki Simpson and husband, Terry, of Edmond, OK. She is also survived by six grandchildren, Steve Walker and family, of Edmond, Lance Carpenter and family, of Leedey, Leah Beer and family, of Leedey, Lake Carpenter and family, Leedey, Mandy Carpenter and family, Clovis, NM and Taryn Palesano and family, of Marysville, OH and 10 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great- grandchild. The family will greet guest 4:00 P.M. till 6:00 P.M., Friday November 1, 2013 at the funeral home.
