Bob Davis, 91, of Pine Bluff, AR, formerly of Clinton, OK, passed away Friday, January 24th, 2025, at Green House Cottages of Southern Hills in Rison, AR. He was born September 4th, 1933, to the late Samuel Ronald Davis Sr. and Lola Mae (Dutton) Davis of Hobart, OK. He was reared and received his education in the Lake Valley community, located in Washita County, OK.
Visitation will be Wednesday, January 29, 2025, from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Kiesau-Lee Funeral Home. Services will be held Thursday, January 30, 2025, at 10:00 AM, at the Randy Kiesau Chapel located inside Kiesau-Lee Funeral Home, 2500 W. Modelle Ave., Clinton, OK 73601. Burial will take place at the Clinton Cemetery, immediately following the service.
On May 30th, 1954, while working for Atlantic Refining Co. on location in Anadarko, OK, he married the love of his life, Ameta Fay Noblitt. During the next 6 years, they lived in various locations in Oklahoma, west Texas and New Mexico. Two daughters were also added to the family during this time. In 1960 the family moved to Clinton, OK where they lived for 53+ years before moving in 2013 due to health issues.
After moving to Clinton, Bob worked several jobs. He retired in 1980 from the Clinton Fire Department as a Captain. In addition to his duties as a firefighter, he also drove the bookmobile for Western Plains Library System which he enjoyed immensely. In addition, he also helped his mother-in-law with farm chores following the death of her husband in 1971. In his later years, he drove trucks for Bob Smith and Ford Tractors as well as helping drive vehicles to/from Clinton for a local car dealership.
Bob enjoyed spending time with his family, fishing, camping, woodworking, traveling and sightseeing. Drinking coffee with his buddies was also a highlight of his day.
Bob and Ameta were active members of Broadway Heights Missionary Baptist Church while living in Clinton. Bob had a keen interest in making sure the church yards were neatly mowed each week.
He is preceded in death by his parents, four brothers Sam Ronald Jr., Dale D., Fred Lee and Will Rogers, and one sister Helen.
He is survived by two daughters Sharon (Carlin) Gray, Linda (Philip) Carroll; four grandchildren Brad (Tara) Carroll, Chad (Lacie) Carroll, Krista Gray and Aaron (Jenny) Gray; two great-grandchildren Bryson and Allison; one brother Pat (Jackie); one sister-in-law Dorothy and numerous other relatives and friends.
Services are under the direction of Kiesau-Lee Funeral Home, 2500 W. Modelle Ave., Clinton, OK 73601.
