Funeral Services for Bruce Pinion, 80, Clinton resident will be held 2:00 P.M., Wednesday, May 14, 2014 in the First Christian Church, officiated by Doyle Kinney and Rick Sandoval and burial will conclude in the Hobart Rose Cemetery in Hobart, OK under the direction of the Kiesau-Lee Funeral Home. Bruce L. Pinion was born August 9, 1933 to William Edgar and Flora (Beck) Pinion in Cordell, Oklahoma and passed away Saturday, May 10, 2014 while visiting in his son's home in Oklahoma City, OK. Bruce started his young life in Cordell, OK and his mother passed away when he was about five years old and the family moved to Hobart, OK where he attended his schooling and proved to be an outstanding football player. His father remarried LoreneLawhon and she became his mother figure and helpedin his raising. He enlisted in the U.S Army in 1951 serving in Korea and was honorably discharged in 1953. He returned to Oklahoma where he soon met and married Betty Christian on December 12, 1953 in Vernon, TX. They made homes in Hobart, Oklahoma City, Kansas and Altus and then settled in Clinton in 1959. He was employed with the Soil conservation for two years as well as working for Guilt the Edge Milk Company. He also owned and operated the Pinions Service Station at the Tradewinds for a couple of years. In 1971 he took over the Mistletoe Express Freight Company and stayed with them until the company closed in 1988. He then worked for Frontier Express until he semi-retired and then a worked for Aaron Sauer's Car Wash until his full retirement. He was preceded in death by his mother, father and step-mother, two sons, Steve Pinion and Tim Pinion. He is a member of the Frist Christian Church. He is survived by his wife, Betty, of the home, and a son Rob Pinion, of Oklahoma City, OK; two sisters, Thelma Phillips, Laverne, CA, Pat Wright and husband, Jim, Grove, OK and a brother, Bill Pinion and wife Theresa ,Wyandotte OK. He is also survived by seven grandchildren, Jason Pinion, Jeff Pinion, Josh Pinion and wife, Glenda, Jeremy Pinion, Lynn Pinion, Cassidy Pinion and Timmy Pinion and one great-granddaughter, Jalynn Pinion.
