Funeral Services for Carmileta Hughes, 83, Arapaho resident will be held 10:00 A.M. Saturday, March 16, 2019 in the Church of Christ, 2601 Custer Ave. Clinton, OK, officiated by Patrick Peters. Burial will be in the Stafford Cemetery under the direction of the Kiesau-Lee Funeral Home. Carmileta May ( Kenney) Hughes was born September 27, 1935 in Canute, Oklahoma and passed away Wednesday, March 13, 2019 in the Weatherford Regional Hospital, Weatherford, Oklahoma. Carmileta was raised on the family farm where she learned to help her father with the cattle, milking and do many farm chores. She attended Stafford Schools graduating from Stafford High School in 1953. She soon married her high school sweet heart, Jim Hughes, on June 20, 1953 in Foss, Oklahoma. They made their first home in Clinton, but soon moved back to the Foss Lake area and farmed. They purchased a farm North of Arapaho and made that their home for many years. They also owned and operated the Jim Hughes Goodyear Tire Service for about five years where she worked as the bookkeeper. She was a very active and faithful member of the Church of Christ; she was the wife of an elder and she fulfilled the many duties that entailed. She loved to cook, sew and do for others; she loved spending time with her children and grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her husband, Jim, her parents and an infant brother, Lloyd. She is survived by three daughters, Amy Cudd and husband, James, Hinton, OK; Barbara Walker and husband, Mike, Kennedale, Texas and Katie Rayner and husband, Kevin, Edmond, OK; sister, Betty Miller, Clinton. She is also survived by five grandchildren, Jared Cudd and wife, Kristin, Arapaho, Oklahoma, Julie Webb and husband Jason, Kennedale, Texas, Jon Walker, Kennedale, Texas, Dustin Rayner and wife, Quinn, Guthrie, Oklahoma, Patrick Rayner and wife, Daniella, Edmond, Oklahoma; 10 great-grandchildren, Traber, Channing, and Daxon Cudd, Reagan and McKinley Webb, Hudson, Norah and Wren Rayner and Isabella and Cooper Rayner. The family has suggested those wanting to give a memorial contribution may do so to the Tipton Home, 323 Baseline Road, Tipton, Oklahoma 73750
