Funeral Services for Caroline Fern Curtis, 74, life long Clinton resident will be held 3:00 P.M., Saturday, April 6, 2013 in the Kiesau Memorial Chapel, officiated by Ramus Hicks and Sophia Big Goose and burial will follow in the Clinton Indian Cemetery under the direction of the Kiesau-Lee Funeral Home A traditional Indian Wake will be held 7:00 till 9:00 P.M., Friday in the Abundant Life Church, 18th and Hayes in Clinton. Caroline Fern Curtis was born August 1, 1938 to Amiel Curtis, Sr. and Margaret (Riggs) Curtis in Clinton and passed away Tuesday, April 2, 2013 in the Integris Baptist Hospital in Oklahoma City. Caroline was raised and attended school in Clinton. She worked over 35 years at the Trade Winds Motel and Restaurant retiring in 1997. She is a member of the Baptist Church and the Military Service Club; she enjoyed bead work, Native American Singing, Pow Wows and was a big fan of Elvis Presley and Kiana Reeves. She was preceded in death by her parents, three brothers, Infant Nathan Curtis, Amiel George Curtis, Jr., and Raymond Stone Calf, Sr., maternal grandparents, Stacey Riggs and Mary Ella Poisal and paternal grandparents, George Curtis and Katie Dean Curtis (Bearwoman Black) She is survived by two sisters, Mary Belle Lone Bear and Roberta Harrison, both of Clinton and numerous nieces and nephews which she helped to raise.
