Carolyn Javorsky

July 21, 1941 — May 18, 2019

Funeral service for Carolyn Javorsky 77, will be held 10:00 A.M. Saturday, May 25, 2019 in the Corn Mennonite Brethren Church in Corn, with Kevin Creed and Tim Sandy officiating, and under the direction of the Kiesau-Lee Funeral Home. Burial will follow in the Bible Mennonite Brethren Cemetery. Carolyn Javorsky was born on July 21, 1941, in Cordell, Oklahoma, the second of identical twins, born to John W. and Pauline Gossen. She often teased her twin sister by telling others, "Marilyn is half an hour older than I am." From day one, the twins were very close and many people could not tell them apart. There were five girls born into the family: Joan, Marilyn, Carolyn, Jeanette, and Margret. An infant brother, Robert Johnny, died shortly after his birth. H was the second child born to John and Pauline. Carolyn attended the Corn, Oklahoma, elementary school, but spent the sixth grade at Webster Elementary in Fresno, California, while her father attended Pacific Bible Institute. At nine year of age, Carolyn accepted Jesus Christ into her life and was baptized and joined the Corn Mennonite Brethren Church. After attending Corn Bible Academy for four years, Carolyn graduated with a high school diploma and a Bible diploma in 1959. She married Kenneth Javorsky on December 29, 1959, and they made their home in the Bessie, Oklahoma, area, where she assisted her husband in their farming and implement building businesses. Three children grew up in their home, Cathy, Keith, and Kenton. Carolyn spent her married life working hard beside her husband, and caring for her family. When Ken joined the Gideon organization, Carolyn became one of the auxiliary wives and devoted much time and resources assisting there. She had a deep concern for people who did not know Jesus as their savior and she often gave a Gideon testament to those whom she witnessed. Many have commented about what a sweet, kind and gracious person that Carolyn was. It was because she belonged to Jesus Christ and her strong hope in Heaven. A Bible verse that became very meaningful to her is Psalm 4:8 - "In peace I will lie down and sleep, for you alone, Lord, make me dwell in safety." On Saturday, May 18, 2019, Carolyn joined her husband, Ken, in the presence of the Lord. Preceding Carolyn in death were her parents, John and Pauline Gossen, infant brother, Robert Johnny, husband, Kenneth Javorsky, two infant girls Sandra Jane and Karrie Dawn. Surviving her death are: Children — Cathy Javorsky, Keith Javorsky and wife Racquel, Kenton Javorsky and wife, April, four sisters — Joan Franz, Marilyn and husband, Dave Gerbrandt, Jeanette Grunau, and Margret and husband Ray Smith. Grandchildren include — Wesly Javorsky and wife Melissa, Kimberly Javorsky, Taylor Javorsky, Rene'e Javorsky, Phillip Javorsky, and Kason Javorsky; and many nieces and nephews. Any memorial gifts if Carolyn's name should be given to the Grow CBA campaign of Corn Bible Academy at P.O. Box 38, Corn, Oklahoma 73024.
