Carolyn Miles Lone Elk

Funeral Services for Carolyn Miles Lone Elk, 62, Hammon resident will be held 11:00 A.M., Saturday, February 21, 2015 in the Hammon Indian Community Center officiated by Gerald Panana. Burial will conclude in the Hammon Indian Mennonite Cemetery under the direction of the Kiesau-Lee Funeral Home. There will be a traditional all night wake service starting 7:00 P.M., Friday night, February 20, 2015 in the in the Hammon Indian Community Center. Carolyn Miles Lone Elk was born February 10, 1952 to Darwin Lone Elk and Maxine Miles-Candy in Clinton, Oklahoma and passed away Tuesday, February 17, 2015 in her Hammon home. Carolyn was raised in Hammon and attended Hammon Schools. She married Douglas Lone Elk in 1971 and he preceded her in death. She has been a companion to Billy Ray Jackson since 1979. They have made their homes in Hammon, Elk City, and Shamrock, TX. She was a proud member of the Cheyenne Tribe and was a descendent of Chief Yellow Wolfe, Chief Red Moon, Chief Yellow Eyes Red Lodge and Chief Traveler; she was a bead worker, she enjoyed doing cross-word puzzles and her passion was spending time with her grandchildren and she liked jamming to the oldies. She is preceded in death by her parents, and granddaughter, Casandra Lone Elk. She is survived by her companion, Billy Ray Jackson of the home, daughter, Phyllis Lone Elk, Shamrock, TX and a son, Orville Miles and his wife, Berdella, of Elk City, OK, two sisters, Veronica Martinez and her husband "Red", of Hammon and Laura Candy Byrd, of Hammon, four brothers, Melvin Miles and wife, Karen, El Reno, OK, Rector Candy and wife Rachel, of Hammon, Rickey Candy and wife, Tammi, of Elk City, Stewart Candy, of Hammon. She is also survived by Tatiana Miles, Jessica Lone Elk, Frankie "Kankie" Lone Elk, Eva Lone Elk, Phillip Lone Elk, Dillon Bradley, Tommy Bradley, Dalton Bradley and Nicole Bradley; Great-grandson, Cassandra "Baby Girl" Young Bull and Corey James Young Bull.
