Catarina Castillo Rivera

Funeral Services for Catarina Castillo Rivera, 82, Clinton resident will be held 2:00 P.M., Friday, April 25, 2014 in the First Church of God, officiated by Rev. Daniel Chapa and burial will follow in the Clinton Cemetery under the direction of the Kiesau-Lee Funeral Home. Catarina (Castillo) Rivera was born November 25, 1931 to Eugenio Castillo and Estefana Morales Castillo in Brackettville, TX and passed away early Wednesday, April 23, 2014 in the United Methodist Health Care Center in Clinton, OK. Catarina was raised in Brackettville, TX where she attended her schooling. She met and married Leonardo Acosta in 1948. To this union four children were born Dora Catarina, Jose Juan "John" Acosta, Jesus "Jesse" Acosta and Francisco "Frank" Acosta. In 1959 she met and married Silvestre Rivera, of which two boys were born, Rudolph "Rudy" and Roberto "Robert" Rivera. She spent time in both Oklahoma and Minnesota where she worked as a farm labor as well as being a housewife. The family arrived in Clinton in 1965. They would work six months in Clinton and six months in Minnesota. Traveling back and forth until 1978. Mr. Rivera passed away in 1978 and the family moved to Minnesota for a couple of years and then settled back in Clinton in 1980 where they settled. She being a licensed minister along with her son Frank who was ordained, they started the Spanish Pentecostal Mission in Arapaho and in 1988 they became the TemploMaranatha Church and was moved to Clinton. They are associated with Unified Pentecostal Local churches, Inc., International. She is preceded in death by her parents, infant daughter Dora Catarina, husband, Silvestre and three sister, Simona Arreola, Calletana Castillo, and Maria Sanchez. She is survived by five sons, Jose Juan Acosta and wife Elizabeth, Jesse Acosta and wife Renee, Frank Acosta, Rudy Rivera and wife, Lorie, Robert Rivera AND WIFE, Terri, all from Clinton, one brother Domingo Castillo, Del Rio, TX. She is also survived by 14 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren.
