Funeral services for C.C. Crispin, 70, well known farmer/rancher from the Putnam area will be held 2:00 P.M., Friday, January 20, 2017 in the Putnam First Christian Church, officiated by Rev. David Beck and Rev. Sandy Shepherd. Burial will conclude in the Prairie Bell Cemetery near Putnam under the direction of the Kiesau-Lee Funeral Home. C.C. Crispin, Jr. was born October 14, 1946 to Carroll and Fern (Graft) Crispin in Thomas, OK and passed away Tuesday, January 17, 2017 in Clinton, OK. Chris as he is known by family and friends was raised on the family farm near Putnam and he attended school at Independence, Putnam and Leedey. After he graduated from high school he enlisted in the U.S. Army in 1968 and served in Viet Nam. In July of 1970 he was honorably discharged and he returned back to Western, OK. While in the military he bought saving bonds every month and he chose to cash them in and buy mama cows. His mother introduced him to a fellow teacher, Nelda Stephenson, and they were soon married on April 7, 1971 in Webb, OK. They farmed, ranched and raised beef masters cows in Putman and Webb for a number of years. He suffered a stroke in 2001 and it left him handicapped for the past 15 years. He has fought a long and hard battle. He was a member of the Prairie Bell Church. He is preceded in death by his parents, a host of aunts and uncles, and a great niece, Landry Hartzell. He is survived by his wife, Nelda, of the home, brother, Ronnie Crispin and wife, Letha, Taloga, OK, Aunt Arlita (Crispin) Ferrell; nephew, Rene Crispin, and his wife Ann, a niece, Julie Hartzell and husband, David, great nephew, Peyton , great niece, Jenna Page and husband, Easton, great-great-nephew Rawlings Page and a host of family, friends and neighbors.
