Funeral Services for C.E. “Ed” Pendley, 81, long time Clinton resident will be held 2:00 P.M., Saturday, February 23, 2013 in the First Assembly of God Church, officiated by Rev. Mike Holman and burial will conclude in the Clinton Cemetery under the direction Kiesau-Lee Funeral Home. Clayton Edward “Ed” Pendley also known as “Mud Doc” was born December 19, 1931 to Frank Edward Pendley and Pansy Juanita (Robertson) Pendley in Anadarko, OK and passed away Tuesday, February 19, 2013 at a oil field site 5 miles west and 10 miles North of Roll, OK. Ed was raised and attended school in Anadarko and Kingfisher, OK. He joined the U.S. Navy in 1949. He was married to Edna Jane Berry on May 31, 1950 in Kingfisher, OK. He continued his obligation in the Navy and was honorably discharged in 1953. He returned back to Kingfisher and went to work in the oil field as a roughneck He went to Mud Engineer School and graduated in 1955. He worked for Magabar Mud Company as their mud engineer until he moved to Clinton in 1960. He worked in the oil fields as a mud engineer for over 58 years and was doing so the day of his death. He was also engaged in several businesses of his own, including Cameo Carpet Cleaning, Amway distributor and operated Hub City Exports. He was a member of the First Assembly of God Church and a lifetime member of the National Rifle Association. He enjoyed collecting classic cars and loved animals and was known to take care of everybody around him and was a security guard for Darlene Wong. He is survived by his five children, twins Paul Edward Pendley and Pauline Jane Lee and her husband Ray, Gayla McCallister and her husband, Vernon, all of Clinton Diana Bowen, Lindsay, OK and Myra Richards and her husband Brian, Quincy, FL; a sister, Virginia Tate and husband, Jack, Enid, OK. He is also survived by 12 grandchildren, 28 great-grandchildren and five step great-grandchildren as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
