Charles “Chuck” Andrew Ladd was born December 3rd, 1951 to Augusta Tom Ladd Jr. and Lila Mae Hicks Ladd in Booneville Arkansas and passed away November 2nd, 2023 in Clinton, Oklahoma.
He is preceded in death by his parents and grandparents, Andrew W. and Mamie (Kingsborough) Hicks and Augusta Tom Sr. and Lola Vaughn Ladd, sister Sharron Ladd, brother, Tommy Ladd, life long friend and companion Gloria Mattern; Granddaughter Emily Herman, Great Grandson Jedidiah Brant and Great nephew Glenn Dale Godsey II.
He attended Clinton Public Schools and graduated in 1969. Charles held many jobs in his life, such as driving a taxi for his family taxi business in Clinton, he was a mechanic at Clanton’s Truck Stop in Big Cabin, Oklahoma, a welder, he worked in the coal industry in Eastern Oklahoma, pumped gas and worked as a farmer for numerous people in Western Oklahoma.
Charles served in the National Guard for 4 years
Charles moved to Lousianna in 1982 where he met the love of his life, Gloria Mattern.
He is survived by sisters, Carla Suitor and her companion Robert Bryan and Carolyn Bradley; Daughter, Michelle Soverns and husband Bryan; granddaughters, Katie Brant and husband Mark, Rebecca Reid-Diaz and husband Xavier and Madison Soverns. Great-Grandchildren Kassadi Brant, Xander Reid-Diaz and Declan Reid-Diaz; nieces and nephews, Frances Altman and husband Charlie, Lee Harmon and wife Christie, Tommy Ladd II and wife Lori, Bobby Suitor and wife Rhonda and Micaela Marquez and husband Joel; several great nieces and nephews and lifelong family friend, Kathy Kingore.
Chuck was the pillar of strength to his family, a hero to his daughter and grandchildren. He was loved by so many and will be greatly missed.
If you knew Chuck, you know that Heaven will need to stock up on Braums whole milk! Until we meet again.
A celebration of life will be planned at a later date.
