Charles Edwin Lewis

Charles Edwin Lewis, born on June 19, 1940, in Eakly, Oklahoma, to Clifford Charles and Della Mae (Berna) Lewis, passed away peacefully on August 8, 2024, surrounded by his loved ones. He was 84 years old.

Charles was a proud member of the Binger High School class of 1958, where he forged friendships and memories that lasted a lifetime. After graduation, he felt the call to serve his country and joined the Army Reserves in 1962. His dedication and commitment led him to serve six honorable years, rising to the rank of Staff Sergeant before his discharge in 1968.

In 1963, Charles married the love of his life, Anna Marie Dyck, in a beautiful ceremony in Bessie, Oklahoma. Their love story spanned over six decades, filled with laughter, adventure, and a shared passion for family and the great outdoors.

An avid bowler and camping enthusiast, Charles found joy in the simple pleasures of life. He was a proud supporter and participant in the Boy and Cub Scouts, creating countless cherished memories with his sons. The Pinewood Derby was a particular favorite of his, where he poured his heart into crafting cars for his boys, allowing them the fun of painting their creations.

Charles had a deep love for travel, with Canada and Cape Cod being among his favorite destinations. As a family, they cherished trips to Red Rock Canyon, where they would travel together, creating bonds and memories that would last a lifetime.

His career spanned four decades as an Operations Support Specialist for Smith Barney, where he was known for his unwavering dedication, integrity, and strong work ethic. His colleagues respected him, and his contributions to the company were invaluable.

Charles is survived by his loving wife, Anna Marie, their children, grandchildren, great grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends who will miss his warmth, wisdom, and unwavering love.

His life was a testament to the values of family, service, and enjoying life’s simple pleasures. He will be deeply missed but forever remembered in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.

He was proceeded in death by his parents, 2 brothers George Clifton Lewis and Ivan Lewis and 3 sisters Emma Lee Domstead, Verla Cain and Janice Paula Hall.

He is survived by wife Anna Marie of the home, 3 sons Jeff Lewis and wife Michelle of Bessie, Brian Lewis and wife Karen of Oklahoma City, and Kevin Lewis and wife Raini of Mustang, 5 grandsons Grant McAtee and wife Liz of Clinton, Braden Lewis and wife Destiny of Clinton, Parker Lewis of Clinton, Eric Lewis and wife Megan of Plano, TX and Joey Lewis of Oklahoma City, 2 granddaughters Haley Lewis and husband Jeff of Mustang and Mandy Lewis of Mustang, 9 great grandchildren, 2 sisters Zella Faye Kerlick and Jeanie Kluver and husband Ray and a brother Jerry Lewis and wife Linda.


Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, August 13, 2024, at 2:00PM at the Peace Lutheran Church in Bessie, OK. Family will receive friends on Monday, August 12, 2024 from 6:00-8:00 PM at Kiesau Lee Funeral Home. Services are under the care of Kiesau-Lee Funeral Home in Clinton, Oklahoma.
