Cheryl Ann Rogers was born October 21, 1949, in Beaver, Oklahoma, to John Elbert and Lenora (Pierce) McNabb. She passed from this life December 29, 2021, in her home. She attended Liberal schools, graduating from high school in 1967. She was a National Honor Society member and was in the Liberal High School band and jazz band as a saxophone player where she sat first chair all four years. Cheryl then graduated from Liberal Cosmetology School. On March 14, 1970, Cheryl married Clarence Rogers, and they made Liberal their home for nine years. She was a beauty operator in Liberal for eleven years before moving to Shattuck, OK, where her husband Clarence accepted a job with Mason Funeral Home. She resided there until her death. She was a funeral director’s wife and worked at the funeral home as beautician and office manager. Cheryl loved to do crafts and keep a beautiful home decorated for every holiday. Among her many hobbies, she handcrafted clothes for porcelain dolls, arranged dried flowers and wreaths, collected antiques, and loved gardening. Halloween was her favorite time of year. She loved to celebrate it inside and outside her home and would make her famous chili for the neighborhood that night. She and her husband Clarence would dress up and pass out treats to innumerable little trick or treaters every year. It was so popular with the kids that they had many requests each year to continue the tradition. She was a very caring and loving aunt and great aunt who will be dearly missed. She had a quick and endearing wit and possessed a special gift for making people feel special and unconditionally loved. She was a gift giver and so enjoyed giving homemade presents to her family, friends and acquaintances. She was preceded ln death by her father, mother, brother- in-law, Larry Dean Rogers, and sister-in-law, Kathy McNabb.
