Cheryl "Kay" Gouldsby

Funeral Services for Cheryl “Kay” Gouldsby, 66, Clinton resident will e held 2:00 P.M., Friday, January 29, 2021 in the Bethany Baptist Church, officiated by Pastor Billy Mucker and Pastor E. Jennings Tyson. Burial will follow in the Clinton Cemetery under the direction of the direction of the Kiesau-Lee Funeral Home. Cheryl Marie (Griffin) Gouldsby also known as “Cheryl Kay” was born July 8, 1954 to David Lovejoy Griffin and Georgia Marie (Taylor) in Kansas City, Kansas and passed away Sunday, January 24, 2021 in her Clinton home. Cheryl was raised in Clinton, Oklahoma and graduated from Clinton High School in 1972. She attended Southwestern Oklahoma State University in Weatherford, OK. She worked for Southwestern Bell Telephone Company in Clinton and later transferred to Santiago, CA for about three years. She furthered her working career by attending Heavy Equipment Operating School in North fork, VA. She moved back to Clinton, OK and married Danny Gouldsby in 1992 in Clinton. She was a longtime member of the Bethany Baptist Church and the Eastern Star; she music and was an accomplished singer, watching television, playing videos and games on her cell-phone and sneaking out to the casino; and eating out with family and friends. She is preceded in death by her parents, daughter, Viola Gouldsby and a sister, Karen Griffin-Russ. She is survived by daughter, Dekeisha Griffin, OKC, OK; three sons, William Griffin, OKC, OK, David Griffin, and Mike Crawford, both of Clinton; four sisters, Sharon Taylor, Davie Murphy, both of OKC, OK, Tyra Harris, Dallas, TX and Daretta Griffin, Lawton, OK; and several grandchildren including Lance Delana, Clinton and five great-grandchildren.
