Chester Lee Glancy

Funeral Services for Mr. Chester Lee Glancy, Jr., 81, Clinton resident will be held 10:00 Wednesday, September 10, 2014 in the Kiesau Memorial Chapel, officiated by Rev. Joe Jernigan. Burial will conclude in the Clinton Cemetery under the direction of the Kiesau-Lee Funeral Home. Chester Lee Glancy, Jr., was born March 18, 1933 to Chester L. Glancy and Gladys L. (Crane) in Friona, TX and passed away early Saturday, September 6, 2014 in the Grace Living Center in Clinton, OK. Chester was raised in Clinton and graduated from Clinton High School in 1951. He continued his education at Oklahoma State University and in 1954 he enlisted in the U.S. Navy. He served and was honorably discharged in 1958. He came home to Clinton, OK where he owned and operated Glancy's TV Repair Shop. In 1963 he moved to Shamrock, TX where he managed the Sun and Sand Motor Inn. He moved back to Oklahoma and ran the Tropicana Inn in Weatherford, OK. He married Margaret Nix on October 31, 1984. He retired from the Motel business in 1992 and settled back in Clinton. He was a member of the Baptist Church, he was a past member of the Kiwanis Club, served on numerous boards including the Race Track Board, and he had served on the Shamrock City Counsel. He was very active in his retirement years and was still racing car #97 when he was 72 years old. He is preceded in death by his parents, and a daughter, Loren. He was survived by his wife, Margaret, of the home, two daughters, Kimberly Johnson and husband Bron, and Claudia "Cookie" McClellan and husband, Matt, all of Amarillo, TX, two sons, Chester Lee Glancy, III, and wife, Virginia, and Michael Christopher Glancy, all of Clinton. He is also survived by seven grandchildren, James Colter Vice and wife, Meagan, of Amarillo, TX, Kyler Hill, of Fredericksburg, TX, Landon Hill, Amarillo, TX, Jordan, Bass, of Amarillo, TX, Callie McClellan, Amarillo, TX, Chester Lee Glancy, IV, "Chet", of Elk City and Brandon Glancy, Elk city, OK; seven great grandchildren and his father-in-law, Keg Nix, of Clinton.
