Chief Langburn "Perk" Fisher

Funeral Services for Chief Langburn "Perk" Fisher, 68, Custer County resident will be held 2:00 P.M., Thursday, July 23, 2015 in the First Mennonite Church, officiated by Rev. Lawrence Hart, Daniel Mosburg and Doyle Kinney; burial will conclude in the Clinton Cemetery with military honors under the direction of the Kiesau-Lee Funeral Home. A wake service will be held 6:00 P.M., till 8:00 P.M., Wednesday, July 22, 2015 in the Kiesau memorial Chapel. Langburn Fisher, Jr. was born May 25, 1947 to Langburn "Happy" Fisher and Imogene (Chapman) Fisher in Thomas, Oklahoma and passed away Sunday, July 19, 2015 in the Grace Living Center in Clinton, OK. "Perk" was raised at Deer Creek in Thomas, OK and started his schooling at Thomas. He later went to Custer City Schools where he was an outstanding athlete. He graduated in 1966 and received the Panther Boy Award his senior year. Only three months after his high school graduation he was drafted into the U.S. Army where he served in Viet Nam. He received numerous accommodation metals including the Silver Star, Bronze Star and two Purple Hearts. He was honorably disharged in 1969 and he returned back home to Oklahoma. He was a man of many talents and made his living doing art, sculptures, carving and drawings. He has traveled extensively but has made Clinton his home the past 8 years. He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers, Bobby Fisher and Lionel Fisher; sisters, infant Deva Fisher, Lodema Fisher, Juanita Fisher and Irma Fisher; nephew, Wilbur Spang, two adopted brothers, Ransel Rhoads and William Littleman; maternal grandparents, Sarah Flyingout Heap of Birds and Temple Chapman and paternal Grandparents, Eugene Fisher and Kitty Belle (Spang) Fisher. He is a member of the Deer Creek Mennonite Church, a proud and prestige member of the Cheyenne Arapaho Tribe of Oklahoma and was one of their chiefs. The Veterans of Foreign Wars and Dis-abled American Veterans. He is survived by his two daughters, Shelly Jordan, of Woodward, OK and Carrie Fisher Edwards, of Watonga, OK; brother, Eugene Fisher and wife, Anna, of Billings, MT; sisters, Norma Jean Fisher, of Clinton, Erma Tsotadle, of Ft. Cobb, OK, Carol Gowdy and husband, Darren, of Sapulpa, OK, Yvonneda Thompson and husband, O.T., of Busby, MT, Edie Adams and Nathel Shows, of Billings, MT and sister in law, Nancy Rhoads, of Clinton. He is also survived by adopted brothers, Patrick Cornell, of Clinton, Keith Driscoll, of Custer City, Brian Keith of OKC, and adopted sisters, Irene Hayes, Nellie Littleman and Margaret Howlingwolf; 8 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren.
