Funeral services for Clara Goossen, 96, Corn resident will be held 2:00 Monday, February 24, 2014 in the Corn Mennonite Brethren Church, officiated by Rev. Ken Gardner and burial will conclude in the Corn Mennonite Brethren Cemetery in Corn, OK under the direction of the Kiesau-Lee Funeral Home. Clara (Penner) Goossen was born March 2, 1917 to Henry and Emma (Jackson) Penner in Colony, OK and passed away early Friday, February 21, 2014 in the Corn Heritage Village in Corn, OK. Clara as raised in Colony and Corn and she graduated from Corn Public Schools and then continued her education at the Corn bible Academy. She married Mr. George Goossen and they raised their family and farmed together in Corn their whole married life. He preceded her in death and she has been a resident of the Corn Heritage Village since 1994. She was a member of the Corn Mennonite Brethren Church and she enjoyed music and playing the piano. She was also preceded in death by her parents and six sisters and a brother. She is survived by a daughter, Doris Hixon and husband Larry, Tulsa, OK; three sons, Bob and Wanda Goossen, Will Goossen and wife, Bobbie, Arvada, CO and Phil Goossen and wife Dena, of Hydro, OK. She is also survived by seven grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.
