Clarice (Crenshaw) Lambert was born August 6, 1939, to Columbus Wheaton and Ida (Pettis) Crenshaw in Hugo, OK and was called home Friday, February 11, 2022, in the Clinton , Ok Clarice was raised in Clinton and attended The Excelsior School System where she played basketball and later transferred to Clinton High School where she graduated in 1956. She one of the first Black Students to graduate from Clinton High School. She attended Southwestern state University where she became certified in dietary management. She married Linwood Lambert in 1957 in Clinton Clinton is where they made their home. She began a life long career with TB Sanatorium and Clinton Veterans Center and retired as head dietician and dietary superintendent after 42 years of service. She was a member the Oklahoma Dietary Managers Asssociation. She always had a second job, working at the Cherokee Trading Post, the Porter House Restaurant in Weatherford. She was a longtime faithful and very active member of the Bethany Baptist Church, where she served as Kitchen Director, Mentor for young adults, Youth Mentor, active in womens ministry. She was Church Secretary and Treasure. She loved Christ. She served many roles at Bethany Baptist Church. She was president Excelsior School Alumini until she passed the title down but still remained the mentor. She was an active member of the NAACP. She was also a member of Prince Hall Heroines of Jericho, Glenn R. Smith Court #37 she was a past Most Ancient Matron ( MAM) of the high office and Queen Esther Eastern Stars where she also held office. Clarice was one of the sweetest people you could ever meet. She had a heart of pure gold and always kept the brightest smile on her face. She loves her community and remained very active in her community. She loves cooking and fed everybody. She loves spending time with her family and great grandkids. She loved to travel, watch basketball, and spend time on the phone with family and friends. She stayed busy helping others and was an encourager and supporter to everyone she until her transition into heaven. She was preceded in death by her parents, her three brothers Leon Crenshaw , Clint Wheaton and Everett Crenshaw ,sister, Ruth Crenshaw. She is survived by her two children Lloyd (Valerie) Lambert of Chandler Arizona . Marisa Lambert Sims of Fort Smith Arkansas. She is also survived seven grandchildren, Kenneth Lambert, Andre’ Lambert, Shawn Lambert, L.D. Lambert, Jr., Devane Lambert, Apiphany Oliver and Rakeem Oliver, 13 great grandchildren, A God Daughter Valeria Lewis, special niece Phyliss Perry, Special Cousin Arizona and a host nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
