A Chapel Service for Cleve “Wink” Shepherd will be held 10:00 A.M., Monday, February 11, 2013 in the Kiesau Memorial Chapel, officiated by Rev. Charlie Murphy and Sandy Shepherd and burial will conclude in the Arapaho Cemetery under the direction of the Kiesau-Lee Funeral Home. Cleve William “Wink” Shepherd was born August 15, 1930 to Jim Shepherd, Sr. and Mabel (Spencer) Shepherd in Arapaho, OK and passed away early Friday morning, February 8, 2013 in the Integris Clinton Regional Hospital. “Wink” was raised in the Barnitz Creek area north of Arapaho and he graduated from Arapaho High School in 1948. He married Shirley M. Marvel on July 3, 1950 in Roswell, NM. They made their home in Clinton where he farmed for several years. In 1955 he started a career with Oklahoma Natural Gas Company and moved to Bethany, OK and after 31 years of service he retired in 1986. The Shepherd’s moved to the Ft. Cobb Lake area in 1995 where he loved being outdoors and fishing. Mrs. Shepherd preceded him in death in 2005 and he later married Peggy Catlett on April 30, 2008. They made their home at the Ft. Cobb Lake home for a couple of years before moving back to Clinton. He is a member of the Freewill Baptist Church, he enjoyed fishing, hunting, gardening and he loved blue grass music and he enjoyed playing the mandolin. He is preceded in death by his parents, and three infants, seven brothers and sisters, Helen Raab, Betty Jane Hoffman, Eva Sprott, Jim Shepherd, Jr., Dan Shepherd, Willard Shepherd and Warren Shepherd. He is survived by his wife, Peggy, of the home, a daughter, Jeanne Evans and husband, Terry, Yukon, two step-sons, Gene Catlett and wife, Vickie, and Gary Catlett, all of Clinton, sister, Madelyn Patton and husband, Bob, El Reno. He is also survived by eight grandchildren, Sheila Brookshire and husband Barry, Traci Evans and Megan Brakefield and husband David, all of Yukon, Chelsey Mitchell and husband, Jamey, Texhoma, Kendi Jones and husband, Chris, Piedmont, OK, Brittani Belardo and husband, John, Edmond, Monica Austin and husband, Billy, Lawton and Kari Smith and husband, Kas, Yukon; 13 great-grandchildren, Emily Brakefield, Tyler Brakefield, Macy Brookshire and Chase Brookshire, Jace Weaver, Maci Weaver, Emma Mitchell, Madison Mitchell, Jordan Jones, Rhett Jones, Cindy Belardo, Jennifer Belardo and Lexi Belardo, as well as several nieces and nephews.
