Graveside services for Clifford Roof, 67, Clinton resident will be held 10:00 A.M., Wednesday, May 13, 2020 in the Arapaho Cemetery officiated by Rev. Jessie Musick and under the direction of the Kiesau-Lee Funeral Home. Clifford Clifton Roof was born December 14, 1952 to Cecil Clifford Roof and Hattie Mae (Ketcherside) Roof in Clinton, OK and passed away Friday, May 8, 2020 in the Alliance Clinton in Clinton, OK. Clifford was raised and attended school in Clinton. He joined the U.S. Army in 1970 and while in basic training he qualified as a sharp shooter. He was stationed in Korea and then returned to El Paso, Texas where he was Honorably Discharged. He returned to Clinton and was soon married to Phyllis Griffin on February 24, 1973 in Clinton. He was employed with Allison Hyde, Oklahoma Department of Transportation; he worked in the oil field and was a Driller for Harper Oil for several years. He loved to gamble and won numerous gambling tournaments including the World Series of Poker in Las Vegas in 1995 and the Oklahoma Storm Tournament at the River Wind in 2010. He was of the Baptist faith; he loved to fish and play poker. He is preceded in death by his parents, eight brothers and sisters, Floy, John Henry, Joe, Jackie, Leroy, Dorothy, Mary and Peggy. He is survived by his wife, Phyllis, of the home, two sons, Ricky Roof, Clinton and Tommy Roof, and wife, Brandie, New Castle, OK; a sister, Ruby Schoonmaker, Hobart. He is also survived by eight grandchildren, Mackenzie Roof, Lexi Roof, Trey Bailey, Patti Roof, Collin Roof, Rachel Roof, Tucker Roof and Turner Roof.
