Cora Evylene Ray

A Funeral Service for Cora Evylene Ray, 83, Foss resident will be held 2:00 P.M., Monday, April 28, 2014 in the Kiesau Memorial Chapel, officiated by Patrick Peters and burial will conclude in the Butler Cemetery under the direction of the Kiesau-Lee Funeral Home. Cora Evylene (Ramsey) Ray was born March 26, 1931 to John Valentine and Cora Rachel (Willis) Valentine and passed away Wednesday, April 24, 2014 in her Foss Home. Mrs. Ray was raised in Butler and she graduated from Butler High School in 1949. She was married to James Marvis Ray on December 20, 1950 in Arapaho, OK. They made their home in Butler where they farmed for a short time and then moved to California. They farmed in California and then moved back to Oklahoma settling back in Butler in 1959. She worked for several years in a local nursing home and she also did home health care until her retirement. She is a member of the Church of Christ, she loved to read, and garden, going bowling and she loved the time she spent with her grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, in May of 1988, three sisters, Alberta Cravens, Hazel Patton and Louse Hanson and two brothers, John Ramsey, Jr., and Lawrence Ramsey. She is survived by four daughters, Diane Lindsey and Jose Ornelas, Woodward, Rachel Ray, Salt Lake City, Utah, Cora Marlene Collins and husband, Joe, Middleburg, FL and Kathy Ray, Shattuck, OK and two sons, Mike Ray and wife, Sandra, Delta, CO and Lonnie Marvin Ray and wife Jolene, Foss, OK, a sister June Shaull and husband, Ben, of CA and a brother, Don Ramsey and wife, Betty, of Mulvane, KS. She is also survived by 14 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.
