Graveside Services for Cora Hicks-Nez, 69, Clinton resident will be held 1:00 P.M., Monday, November 2, 2020 in the Hammon Indian Mennonite Cemetery, officiated by Pastor Delfred Whitecrow and under the direction of the Kiesau-Lee Funeral Home. A Traditional All Night Wake service will be held starting at 7:00 P.M., Sunday, November 1, 2020 in the Clinton Indian Baptist Church officiated by Delfred White Crow and Gerald Panana. Cora Whitecrane Hicks-Nez was born February 14, 1951 to Earl Whitecrane and May (Lefthand) Whitecrane in Hammon, Oklahoma and passed away Tuesday, October 27, 2020 in the Alliance Health Clinton. Cora was raised in Hammon where she started school. When she was 13 years old she transferred to Concho Boarding School where she graduated in 1964. She married George Hicks in 1964 in Custer City where they made their first home. She later married Larry Nez in 1974 in Denver, CO and they made their home in Denver. She worked as a filing clerk at the Denver General Hospital and they moved to Utah. They made their way back to Clinton and she was employed as a nurse’s aid and med aid at local nursing homes. She was a member of the Pentecostal Church; she was a member of the Cheyenne/Arapaho Tribes of Oklahoma; she enjoyed collecting, cooking for family; helping others and going to church activities. She is preceded in death by her parents, six brothers, Truman, Arthur, Benny, Sidney, Homer, and Leon Whitecrane; two sisters, Wilma Jean Whitecrane and Wynona Grace Whitecrane and a son, Floyd Nez; two grandchildren, Destree Lopez and Dustin Lopez. She is survived by her husband, Larry Nez; daughter, Geraldine Hicks, and son, George Hicks, Jr.; sister, Fiora Cruz and husband, Tony, all of Clinton. She is also survived by five grandchildren, Tanya Cowboy, Jordan Cowboy, Tisheena Cowboy, Titiana Hicks and Megan Hicks; six great-grandchildren, Destiny Lopez, Dashawn Lopez, Taymir Cowboy, Siriel Rios, Adde Rios and Naomi Cowboy.
