Funeral services for "Cork" Ross, 85, Clinton resident will be held 10:00 A.M., Wednesday, February 3, 2016 in the Peace Lutheran Church in Bessie, OK officiated by Pastor Jerry Lamb and burial will conclude in the Peace Lutheran Cemetery under the direction of the Kiesau-Lee Funeral Home. Walter R. "Cork" Ross was born October 28, 1930 to Walter Arthur Ross and Dorothy (Swank) Ross in Flagstaff, AZ and passed away Friday, January 29, 2016 in his Clinton home. "Cork" was raised by his mother near the Washita River in Clinton. He attended Clinton High school and graduated in 1949. He began helping Rollin Watson at Watson Electric Company when he was 9 years old. He joined the U.S. Army on September 1, 1950. He served during the Korean War and was honorably discharged on October 18, 1951. He soon married Rosa Lena Reinschmiedt on November 11, 1951 in Bessie, Oklahoma. They made their home in Clinton and he owned and operated Ross Electric Company until his retirement in 2007. He was a longtime and faithful member of the peace Lutheran Church; the American Legiona, Veterans of Foreign Wars, the Evening Lions Club and his younger years he was a member of the Jaycees. He was a proud member of the Clinton Volunteer Fire Department for many years. He was preceded in death by his wife, his parents, brother, Clair Lee Ross and daughter in law, Lynda Ross. He is survived by daughter, Marsha Moore and husband, Charlie, Arapaho, son, Mark Ross and wife, Mayre, Allen, TX; his longtime companion, Eva Lee Stewart, Clinton. He is also survived by four grandchildren, Trista Sperle and husband, Brian, Clinton, Ty Ross Casey, Lubbock, TX, Joey Moore and wife Meagan, Arapaho and Caleb Moore and wife, Mindy, Clinton and 10 great-grandchildren.
