Curtis DeLain Reinke was born December 6, 1940, in Clinton, Oklahoma to Emil and Mary (Mueller) Reinke. He attended school in Custer City, followed by a couple of years in Arapaho, before returning to Clinton, where he graduated high school with the class of 1959. During his high school years, he worked at Clinton Daily News through the Technical-Industrial Arts Program. After graduation, he attended Oklahoma State Technical College in Okmulgee, where he received an associate’s degree. Curtis later worked for Harlow Publishing Company in Oklahoma City, eventually returning to the Clinton area and was employed by the Cordell Beacon from 1965 to 1984. In 1984, Curtis and longtime friend Roger Reeve went into business together and purchased Adams Printing in Cordell. They closed the company and retired in April 2018.
He married Que Quita Alexander on January 26, 1962, at the First Presbyterian Church of Cordell. The couple made their home in Bessie, while living there, they adopted two children, son, Kirk in 1967, and daughter Karol in 1970. The couple spent time as Luther League Sponsors at Trinity Lutheran Church and, as their children grew, as Dill City High School class parents. The family later moved southwest of Cordell to Que Quita’s family farm in 1973. Curtis and Que Quita farmed the land until she passed in1999. Curtis continued farming until April of 2018. He later moved to Southern Plaza Assisted Living in Bethany to be closer to family.
Curtis was a lifelong member of the Trinity Lutheran Church in Clinton.
He was preceded in death by his wife Que Quita (Alexander) Reinke, parents, brothers Dennis Reinke and Kenneth Reinke, and granddaughter, Brandi Parker.
Curtis is survived by two children, son, Kirk Reinke and his wife Debbie of Cushing; daughter, Karol Shepherd and her husband Brandon of Yukon; grandchildren, Mattison Shepherd, Travis Parker and wife Kristin, Nicholas Parker and wife Mary; great-grandchildren, Julie Dunham and husband TJ, Trinity Phillips and husband Levi, Allie, Lizzy, Landon, and Luke Parker; great-great-grandchildren, Sylvie and Sophia Dunham, Wesley Phillips and brother Randy Reinke of Odessa, Missouri.
Friends may pay their respects 1:00 pm to 8:00 p.m. Wednesday and Thursday, December 4th & 5th, at Ray and Martha’s Funeral Home of Cordell. The family will greet friends from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Thursday Dec. 5th.
Funeral services are scheduled for 2:00 p.m. Friday, December 6, 2024, at Peace Lutheran Church in Bessie. Burial will follow in the Lone Star Cemetery near Rocky.
The family wishes to acknowledge and thank the Staff of Southern Plaza Assisted Living of Bethany, the Dr’s, Nurses and staff of Integris Baptist Medical Center, and the generosity of owners and staff at Ray and Martha’s Funeral Home of Cordell for the use of their building during the visitation and greeting. And, finally, all the SGOO Funeral Homes Staff throughout Oklahoma who have helped us during this time.
