Graveside Services for Cynthia Bennett, 60, El Reno resident, will be held 1:00 P.M., Saturday, December 11, 2021 in the El Reno Cemetery Pavilion in El Reno, OK officiated by Perry Greene and under the direction of the Kiesau-Lee Funeral Home in Clinton, OK. Her viewing will be held Friday, December 10, 2021 in the Kiesau-Lee Funeral Home. Cynthia Renee Bennett was born August 17, 1961 to Kenneth and Zelta (Meek) Bennett in Borger, TX and she went to be with Jesus very unexpectedly Sunday, December 5, 2021 in her El Reno, OK home. Cynthia was a lifelong resident of El Reno, OK where she graduated from High School in 1979. She continued her education by going to Southwestern Oklahoma State University in Weatherford, OK and received her Bachelor’s of Education Degree and she later earned her Master’s Degree as a Library Media Specialist from the Central State University in Edmond, OK. She became a well–known educator in the El Reno Public School System. She taught second and third grade classes for 11 years at Webster Elementary School; she taught second grade for 11 years and first grade for one year at Rose Witcher Elementary School. She was the Librarian for 13 years at Hillcrest Elementary and Rose Witcher Schools. This past year she was the Librarian for Rose Witcher School. She had started her 38th year doing what she loved, teaching. She had a love for books and enjoyed the time that she shared them with the children. In the summer months she taught countless children how to swim and was so proud of the fact that she taught generations of families in both school and the swimming pool. Cynthia was a member and served as President of the EEA-El Reno Education Association; she enjoyed cruises and vacations with many friends and family. She loved her cats! She is survived by her parents, Ken and Zelta Bennett, El Reno; two brothers, Kevin Bennett and wife, Crystal, Gregg Bennett and wife, Bessie, all of OKC, OK. She is also survived by numerous adoring nephews, nieces, aunts, uncles and cousins. Because of the Cynthia’s love of books; the family has suggested those wanting to make a memorial contribution, may do so to the El Reno Public Schools Foundation, in memory of Cynthia Bennett, P.O . Box 356, El Reno, OK 73036. The donations will be used to purchase books for the children.
