Funeral Services for Dan Turner, 78, Clinton resident, will be held 10:00 A.M., Wednesday in the Kiesau Memorial Chapel officiated by Bishop Davis Chasteer. Burial will follow in the Stafford Cemetery under the direction of the Kiesau-Lee Funeral Home.
Dan Ross Turner was born June 12, 1944, to Doyle Earl Turner and Winnifred Pearl (Smith) Turner in Sayre, Oklahoma and passed away Friday, November 25, 2022, in Alliance Health Clinton.
Dan was raised in Sweetwater, OK and at a young age he moved with his family to Erick, OK. He attended and graduated from Erick High School in 1962. He furthered his education by going to Oklahoma State University at Stillwater, OK and Southwestern Oklahoma State University in Weatherford, OK, receiving his degrees in Education. He married his wife, Toni Queenan on January 14, 1967, in Erick, OK.
He was an educator and served both as a principal and classroom teacher in Erick, OK and Kingfisher, OK and retired after 35 years.
He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in Clinton, he was a member of the Sigma Tau Gamma Fraternity, he also served with the Rotary Club and the Lion Club. He enjoyed fly fishing, raising horses, hunting, genealogy and family history.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and a brother, Michael Turner.
He is survived by his wife, Toni, of the home, son Jason Turner, daughter Jordan Mosby and sister, Sherri Johnson and a brother, Doug Turner.
He is also survived by three grandchildren, Joey Mosby, Gunner Mosby and Bridgette Mosby.
