Darrell Godfrey

Memorial Services for Darrell Godfrey, 83 Custer City resident will be held 10:00 A.M., Monday, July 17, 2017, in the First Christian Church in Custer City, officiated by Doyle Kinney, under the direction of Kiesau-Lee Funeral Home. Darrell Godfrey was born on May 19, 1934 in El Reno, Oklahoma to Ralph and Nadine (Burger) Godfrey, and passed away on Friday, July 14, 2017, in Custer City. Darrell was raised in Pampa, Texas, graduating Pampa High School in 1953. He joined the United States Army in 1955, in Pampa, Texas. Darrell married Rae Davis on April 17, 1965 in Aurora, CO. He retired from the Army in 1975, after 20 years of service. After retirement, Darrell and Rae moved to Custer City where he farmed for many years. He enjoyed hunting and fishing. Darrell is preceded in death by his parents, two sons John and Dean Godfrey, and one brother Jim Godfrey. He is survived by his wife Rae, of the home, two daughters Deanna Jensen, Edmond, OK, Joan Kanyo and husband Len, O'Fallon, IL, one son, Darrell Godfrey, Custer City, one sister, Cherie Payne, Perry, OK, and one brother Lyndell Godfrey, Pampa, TX Darrell is also survived by six grandchildren and one great-grandchild, also numerous nieces and nephews.
