Delmar "Buck" Shephard

Funeral service for Delmar "Buck" Shephard, 87, Custer County resident will be held 10:00 A.M., Thursday, February 27, 2014 in the Freewell Baptist Church, officiated by Rev. Dwight Shepherd and Rev. Charles Murphy and burial will follow in the Arapaho Cemetery under the direction of the Kiesau-Lee Funeral Home. Delmar Eugene "Buck" Shephard was born December 12, 1926, to Frank and Izetta (Giles) Shephard near Arapaho, Ok and passed away Monday, February 24, 2014 in the Methodist Health Care Center in Clinton, OK. "Uncle Buck" as he was known by most was raised in the Arapaho area and graduated from Arapaho High School in 1945. He has farmed in most of his adult life. He was member of the Freewell Baptist Church, he enjoyed bowling and playing golf. He was an avid sports fan, enjoying baseball, basketball and football. He is preceded in death by his parents, a brother, George Robert Shephard and Frank Shephard, Jr., and sister Jo Ann Barrick and a nephew, Harold Glen Shephard. He is survived by two brothers, Billy Mack Shephard and wife, Shirley, Arapaho, two sisters in law, Retta Shephard, Shady Grove, TX and Bess Shephard of Arapaho. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
