Doris Genelle Gerner

June 11, 1934 — February 6, 2022

Doris Genelle Jones Gerner was born June 11, 1934 to Elder Wilce and Mildred (Nunneley) Jones at Foss, OK. She was the fifth of a family of 8 children. The family moved to Dill Ciy, OK in 1939 where she started school and graduated high shool. She was maried to Wm. E. (Bill) Clift in 1951. He was in the Army. They moved to Washington then Japan and later moved to Augusta, Georgia. They were both baptized into the church there by her father, Elder Wilce Jones. When Bill was discharged from the Army they moved to Dill City, OK and the family, Sherry Ann and Courtney Alan. Genelle married Curtis Daniel (Curt) Gerner in 1969 and moved to Custer City, OK where she loved the rest of her life. She workded at various jobs and kept house and raised her children. She was an artist and loved to paint. She always enjoyed going to church and was a much-loved aunt to all her nieces and nephews. She was proceded in death by her parents, Wilce and Mildred Jones, son Courtney Clift, 3 brothers, Noel (Todd) Jones, Loy Jones, and Gerald Jones, and 3 sisters, infant sister Barbara Jones, Wanelda Hinkle and Linda Kelley. Genelle is survived by her husband, Curt Gerner of the home, daughter Sherry and grandchildren, Carissa Renison and Zach Renison, 4 great grandchildren, 1 sister Wilma Gathright and a host of nieces , Nephews and friends. A private burial was help on Firday, February 11, 2022 a the Custer Cuty Masonic Cemetery under the direction of the Kisesau-Lee Funeral Home.
